MRA General Meeting July 8, 2015
Lacy is appreciative of the support for Carl that’s been shown. She’s going to be at HPR this weekend and she’s going to do a parade lap. It will be on Saturday after Formula 40 (and will be on ths schedule), right before lunch. Any vehicle is welcome to participate in the parade lap.

There has been almost $3K of donations in Carl’s name to the safety fund.

Tech for this weekend – the board is going to cover for the rest of the year and it’ll be set up near the pavillion. We’re not going to replace Carl’s position for the rest of the year. We’ll have that filled with the normal end of year elections. Protests will be handled by a panel of board members. The process might be a little slower that it has been, so please bear with us.

If you’re interested in running for the VP of Tech position, please let someone on the board know and we can help with questions and maybe some training.

Notes on this weekend’s races @ HPR North Course

Gates will be open at 7pm Thurs evening for move in. Practice on Friday will be on the North Course configuration Friday practice registration is available until 7am on Friday morning. Air fence will be set up for the turn 8 bunker & will be there for practice.

Friday night tech will be available as usual until 7pm. We’ll have special tech stickers honoring Carl. The raceday office will be open Friday night as well – listen for announcements. Shannon will be the main contact for tech. Numbers must be on the helmets (both sides of chinbar & back of helmet) and no more silicon in lieu of safety wire – everyone needs to have their stuff wired. Starting now, if you oil the track because you didn’t wire something, you’ll get a fine.

Superstreet is going to get more scrutiny for oil drain plugs.

There are still lots of tshirts available from Tony Baker, but he’s out of the womens’ version.

There are still carport and RV spots available at HPR – check it out at http://highplainsraceway.com

We’d like to try to have 8 rounds next year – maybe an extra PPIR round.

Novice hours – Chad Staker, Kirk Lambert, Patricia Gay, Steve Bohn, Scott Weitman, Sully, Scott Doson, Trina, 615, 712 Ray Richard, Tiffany M. 282.

Contingency has been turned in for round 2 & 3, except for the annual ones of course. We’re still looking into adding contingency that was available for round 1 (which was cancelled) to a race later this year – probably the last one. Stay tuned.

Race Monitor is very helpful. Rick B. has connected us to it so get the app on your phone and check it out.

MRA banquet – there’s not going to be a video produced by Louden this year. If anyone would like to create one, let Louden know.

Trophy vendor is asking if there are any recycleable trophies. If you’re missing a trophy and haven’t picked it up yet, let Joe know. Also if you need novice hours, let Joe know.

For superstreet – add something to the website describing the new focus on the oil drain and fill plugs.

Jeff brought up passing safely. It’s the responsibility of the overtaking rider to pass safely. We had a couple of really bad crashes at Pueblo due to people not passing safely and we need a stronger emphasis on that aspect of riding. Jeff will bring this up at both riders meetings.

Jim B is looking into an FM transmitter to cover the pits at PPIR and will leverage that for the HPR transmission system.
