I think we could easily do a Silver Patrons 8X8 brick. we pretty much already have 20 people, which would put us at $125 each, if I am seeing things right.
And I am sure we will get more people too. Then maybe we can shoot for the Gold Patrons if possible. 8) 8) 8)

this is wonderful! as jeff says we easily have enough people to make a 24 character 8x8 brick happen with something like a $150 contribution from each of us.

$150 is just a rough estimate because i know some may not be able to contribute equal amounts but thats what i'm expecting. Otherwise its like $105 a person from my rough count. ive been slack trying to catch up on work from the weekend so i havent pm'd you all yet, but feel free to email me at my rocketscience.cc address (justin).

i think its pretty safe to say the 8x8 brick mark has been reached; any thoughts on what to write?

Hey guys....just a gentle reminder that the brick for donations of $1000-$4999 will only hold 16 characters according to the donation form on the website. It seems a little strange that the 4x8 brick and the 8x8 brick are both limited to the same 16 characters and the 12x12 brick allows 24 characters, but I have not been involved in the committee that is doing the fundraising. I will ask.

Since this is for a special purpose, can we ask to get a plaque on the pit wall or something different, even if they will not get the plaque ask if it something we can obtain and then have put up for our donation....

thinking something like this example... IB105

Glen are you sure about the 8x8? If I remember correctly the all knowing, ever right Effen VP said the 4x8 is 16 and the 8x8 and 12x12 are 24 charectors. Just thinking out loud here. The smoke is not from a fire.

i didn't know gene, as i'm new to the club this year, but man it sounds like he touched so many people. please consider my $250 that i had already donated a couple weeks back as retroactively in gene's honor. even if it won't contribute to the brick, just as a way for a new racer to honor all your friendships with him and to help bring the new track to reality, which i can only imagine he is rooting hard for, wherever he may be.

this club has some good souls and big hearts in it.

does anybody know real info about the brick stuff... i have been going off what is on the forum.

as far as who to make the checks payable to: i dont know yet. i assume
mra - track project
as stated here
http://www.highplainsraceway.com/pdf/HPR-Donation-Form.pdf

you may also write the check to me. i'm not sure what i need to do for receipt/tax purposes if you plan to use it as a write off. if you need something like that, its easier on me to just hold off and write it to whomever the ultimate recipient is once i figure that out.

sorry if i sent out a bunch of incomplete emails. i thought i was beating the system by sending a message, then hitting 'back' and then pasting in the next board recipient.

for all i could tell i was sending messages.... my bad.

i have a feeling it was from pasting in a word-generated message with a directional ' in it. my message of "hello i'm pm-img everyone..." stopped after I.

As it says in the FAQ's, this donation is NOT tax deductible because CAMA is a for-profit company. In order to qualify for the brick, you will need to have the donation come from a single source, so I would recommend that you, Justin, collect all the money and then write a single check.

The donation form is the most current info available, along with the FAQ's on the HPR website.

Jon,

Joe has passed your interest on to Justin, who is coordinating this brick. Please take a look at the website (see link in jenners' post above) that Justin has set up. You can send Justin an email to confirm (email address is on the site), or simply send him a check (mailing address is also on the site). He's out of town right now, so he may be a little slow in responding to emails.

Thanks 8)

hey guys, i would like to start collecting the rest of everyones contributions soon. I'm going to wrap up by the end of the season.

if you are unsure of what to pay, try for at least $150. if everyone were to pay it would currently be around $90, but I am unable to get a hold of everyone.

please feel free to contact me. I am not on this forum every day so my other email address justin@ rocketscience ,cc is better.

There are alot of names on the list of those wanting to donate in honor of Gene, but only a handful have actually stepped up. Stop being slackers and please get your donation to Justin so we can get a nice Gold Brick in memory of Gene.

For those of you who said you were in and haven't gotten in contact with Justin I hope you weren't just trying to act like you cared. That would be very wrong.

Get whatever you can in to Justin now so we can make this happen. Even if its only $10 it will still help in our ultimate goal of remembering Gene. Give what you can as fast as you can so we can make this happen.

Thank You

And Justin, I like the Gold Brick Idea. We should be able to hit that without a problem.

Thanks for all your hard work in putting this all together Justin. You are a good friend to Gene. We should all be so lucky to have a friend like you if tragedy ever happens to one of us.

We will meet the 5K gold mark! I would like to give a very special thanks to Kim and Dean for their contribution.

There is only a small amount left so everyone get your checks to me.

Now, to decide on a caption (24 characters)
e.g.

So are you going to cap this at $5K or keep accepting donations beyond that? I noticed some of the holdouts were doing the "divide by the remaining $$ to figure out their amount" thing so I didn't know how that would all work.

i'll still take donations for a few days (that is checks that are written to me) and forward them on to the name of 'mra-track project'.

i have that math on there to give some idea because i was continually asked what each person's share was going to be.

i think about a week out from now i will turn everything in. at which point everyone can send their donations directly to hpl.
