MRA Racers -

For some years we have had the online system churning away so everyone can enter (and pay) online for their MRA racing. The system has turned out to be so successful at saving time for the MRA Board, last season a discount for using it was implemented to persuade everyone to use it instead of the FAX entry system.

One limitation we had with the online system was that you had to login and pay for your entries each weekend, or pay for the entire season in advance. Many people would forget to log in and pay, and unfortunately many lost grid positions because of this.

So, with the start of this 2007 season, many will notice a new feature available under the "Profile" section of the site called "AutoPay". With some recent hardware and software upgrades, we (the MRA Board and Imaginary Designs) is able to provide a secure method of storing your sensitive credit card data to be used each race weekend auto-magically.

Essentially, the system works like this:

1) You put a credit card on file with the MRA under the Profile section in the online pre-registration system.

2) When you put a card on file, it will automatically enable the AutoPay service.

3) On the Tuesday evening before the event, and then again on Wednesday at midnight, the people who have an outstanding balance for their racing who also have a credit card on file who also have the service enabled will get charged for their racing automatically.

4) When the cards are run, you will get an email stating if the charge was successful or not. If the charge was successful, you don't need to do anything at all; just come racing! If the charge was not successful on its Tuesday attempt, you will need to login to the pre-registration system and pay for your racing before Wednesday midnight.

Note:

A) If you have a card on file but have no outstanding charges for the upcoming race weekend, your card will not be charged. This can happen when you are not racing or have already manually paid for your racing for this event.

B) You can turn off AutoPay at any time but still keep your credit card on file with us. You can turn the service on and off in the Profile section of your account.

Finally, those who have already signed up for AutoPay will see they are paid for their weekend of racing. The email notification may have a glitch, but I hope to have that worked out soon.

Enjoy!

Just to remind everyone -

If you put a credit card on file with AutoPay and Enable AutoPay for your account, it will get charged for any outstanding balance for the current race weekend.

So that means that for Race 2 and Race 3 (which happen this weekend), your card was charged IF you entered AND you had a credit card on file AND this service was enabled for your account.

If you do not want the racing to be automatically charged to your credit card, please either do not enable AutoPay, do not put a credit card on file, or do not enter for racing for an upcoming weekend.
