I'm at 15 45. Feel like I need to possibly go down to 43 in the rear?

Why?

Since I am not "fast" maybe I have it wrong but I am running a 43 rear. I tested a 45 and I am 1-2 mph faster in in the long back straight but my shifting points and gear selection feels much better with the 43.
Some corners were an issue where the lower gear choice felt too short and the next gear up was too tall.
I am running a stock motor.

How do you know you are 1 to 2 mph faster?

Awwwwwww
Do you get into 6th gear on the full course?

Yes, and I just looked at a video with my tach in it and I am hitting ~9500 rpm before I lift for 4.

I hit the rev limiter coming out of 4 at ppir and out of 11 at hpr. So I either bounce it off the rev limiter or upshift and then have to downshift right after. I don't shift into 6th at hpr full course. And I'm running a stock motor also

Try 15 46 and one gear higher

What if your choices were 15/44 or 15/47?

How did it work out?

I am not one of the fast guys, but I play one on the video game.

The general rule of thumb is gear for the fastest part of the track and use your gear box to sort out the rest. So, if you are out of revs on the back straight at HPR go down a tooth or more at the back. If you are not getting to 6th you likely want to go bigger at the back.

Of course whatever feels good, as Bueller notes he is happier with his gear selection for certain corners at a 43.

As a side note, do we only have 6 guys riding SV's?

So your suppose to gear for the fastest part of the track? I heard gear for the slowest corner. Should you be hitting 6th gear?

me and widmann both got sv650s this season also .... mine is a 15 47 but im going to put a 45 I think .. I was hitting the limiter on the back of hpr just before turn 4 , and I like to use corner speed and not have such a " out of the corner " power .. stock motor .. but I will play with it next time im out ...

Hammer - why down so much? If you were just bumping the limiter in 6th wouldn't you just go down 1 or two in the rear?
