I'm not a racer, but I have a related question. I'm thinking of taking a job as a traveling healthcare worker where I would be given somewhat random 3-6 month contracts anywhere in the country. In order to do this I'd want to take my FJR and possibly a small trackbike with enough basic tools to do basic maintenance. I'm wondering what my options are like cost and cost of ownership and what I'd need to tow it :? `

Thanks!

Are you looking for a trailer with living quarters, enclosed trailer with shop space, or just an enclosed trailer?

Do you have anything that can tow now? (SUV or truck)

Nothing to tow yet. Probably get a Honda Ridgeline or something. It's just for my bike and tool. Like a portable garage.

So, my recommendation would be to find a good used 6X10 or 6X12 enclosed trailer. That is more than plenty room for a bike and some tools and keeps it in the "healthy resale" part of the market.

These trailers usually trade for around $2000 and they seem to hold their value in the used market well. Much smaller and they cost less, but they are harder to sell. Much bigger and you start needing a larger vehicle to pull them.

Here are some examples on CL right now:

here's one on the cheap (but needs some work) side
