Lights and Mirrors

Going to my first superstreet tomorrow, and I have to drive my bike to the class.

Is it acceptable if I tape over my mirrors and lights, or do I need to disconnect the lights and remove the mirrors? It becomes a minor issue because I need the mirrors/lights to drive on the highway on my way to the class.
