What's Happening in the MRA, February 2013

Last month, we decided to start sending an update out after the monthly board and general meetings in order to keep all of you up-to-date with what’s going on in the MRA. This little "news flash" will come your way from time to time with the happenings in the club that you might find interesting or noteworthy. It's really just that, a news flash. The detailed meeting minutes can be found in the forums each month, so if you would like to know more detail regarding the meetings themselves, please visit those sections of the MRA Forum. So with that introduction done, here's what's happening!

This month the MRA has been working on:

• Progressing through the process of changing over to our new online Race Management System. We are currently in user acceptance testing and receiving incremental software updates as we get closer to a final product. We plan to go live with online membership applications on March 1st! Look for an update on this in the next week.
• Seeking sponsorship for the 4 Hour Endurance race and other sponsors for the unfilled Classes, Events, and Series.
• Finalizing and publishing the 2013 Rulebook to the MRA forum. The upcoming version with advertisements will be released soon.
• Finalizing our insurance policies for this year.
• Renewing our agreements with existing contingency sponsors and soliciting new sponsors for 2013. Please see MRA Race Contingency on the MRA forum for the latest on this.
• Working on updating and creating all printed media & tech stickers. We have 2013 2 for 1 tickets and Super Street brochures completed.
• All 1099 forms have been sent out.
• The continuous process of updating the budget for 2013 as we forecast the club’s income and expenses.
• Working on logistics and planning for the upcoming race school. The classroom portion will once again take place at the Fay Myers Clubhouse on Friday, April 12th.
• Working on scheduling a date for the instructors to meet with the New Rider Director to review our training prior to the New Rider School.
• Staffing for the open positions including Equipment Manager, Crash Cart, Pre-Grid Marshal and Corner Marshals. We are in process of accepting and reviewing candidates.
• Managed and staffed and exhibit at the Annual Motorcycle Show & Swap in conjunction with ABATE of Colorado.
• Working invoices and building more E-Displays.
• Building feedback from Superstreet participants on the program and how we can continuously improve it.
• Published an advertisement in Road Racing World for the MRA including our schedule.
• Signed a contract for 2013 with Road Racing World to offer discounted subscription to our members.
• Updating the MRA website. The look and feel has become outdated in recent years and we plan a complete facelift!
• Planning an exhibit at the 2013 Denver Auto Show on March 20-24th. High Plains Raceway has graciously offered the MRA space with their exhibit for this event. We will be looking for volunteers soon!
