Vegas classic course is a pretty sweet track and well, being in Vegas the area surrounding is full of amentities which are fun.

Holy shit, How much to go to Vegas?
I have to warn you that people go to Vegas in $30K cars and go home in $700K buses but I'm going to do the best I can to help you.
1st off, I need the MPG of your vehicle and rather or not you're pulling a trailer as that'll decrease your miledge considerable.
Please let me know your home address or the one of the location you'll be leaving from. Do you have a WERA license or another clubs valid license?
Will you be doing the track day prior as that's $185. How much are you planning on eating and where as the're are good deals at the casinos for all you can eat buffets. Are you staying at the Super 8 or Balagio, Caesars, Luxor or the Motel 6? How many races are you going to race and how many times generally do you change tires during the course of these races? Go to the WERA webpage and decide what classes you'll be signing up for and the Las Vegas Motorspeedways Classic course webpage to check out the track map, figuring the miledge of your bike per race. What brand of tires will you be using? You may want to call either Dale at Racers edge for Pirelli prices, Jim Cox at Jim Cox racing for Dunlop Pricing and I'm afraid I don't know the Michelin dealer at this time since Racers Edge quit Michelin.
Anyhow get back to me and I can look into helping you out and figuring if it's in the budget though as someone once said if you're in a pinch don't do it.

Jon you forgot to add depreciation of the vehicles into your equation and the cost of Beer!

I am interested in going as well.

To make it work I am interested in sharing travel expenses..so if anybody is interested in pairing up please let me know

Joe

Anyone really interested I can make a trailer capable of hauling four bikes and gear available....and I'll fly out. All we needs four willing souls who wish to share the expense and have the time off work to go. Super 8 at Nellis though the web sight claims full has rooms for $49 plus tax. There in the middle of changing the name to the Inn at Nellis as they're right across the street from the entrance. I believe it could be made to be a relatively cheap trip going that route. Just a thought otherwise I'm taking my van

Last call for willing participants.
Seriously, taking one trailer loaded is economicaly the best way to go as for one it has all that's needed for all to participate in other words if one person forgot something chances are another will have it. The competition in WERA will be at or in many cases above what you'll be racing at in the MRA and being Vegas it's just plain fun. The $49 rooms are pretty damn cheap though if you wish to stay at the track that can be arranged as well. As far as foods concerned most all casinos have all you can eat buffets and sandwiches are always easy to consume and not so filling come raceday. Evelin Clark, and the officials who run the WERA organization are top notch folks and have been involved for a looong time. Your AMB transponders compatable as long as you register it at registration and the tracks smooth and challanging. They're plenty of YouTube videos which show the layout and being flat there won't be too many challanges getting up to speed.
As far as cost. Well four bikes in the trailer.Lets say average 3.25 a gallon while getting 10 MPG (worse case scenereo) with 763 miles to Vegas from Boulder what about $125 apiece on fuel. Again I use 10 MPG and any diesel truck going to beat that by two to three MPG. Things that haven't been added are tips for the girls, the price of the girls in the first place and the cost of racing.....Let me know

Those were some hilarious posts Jon. And Jon is right, I have had many of these conversations over the last few years. So based on experience I can narrow it down for a cheapskate budget, as I am proud to be one at racing. If you have a G to drop you're stylin. If you have $800 it can be done. I have done it for a few bucks less, but it takes several people to commit, a nice gas sipping van for the people and gear, and a light open trailer full of bikes. My trailer is tied up snowmobiling that weekend. I'm thinking of throwing my bike in Jon's setup. If you want to go you will need to decide in the next week or so probably. It's a fun smaller course, and last year the grids were full of big name guys. Backstretch has a WOT 5th gear turn entry that is plenty to get the blood flowing.

I certainly understand everyones reluctance in such a trip it's for that reason that I've bagged it myself, way too much effort, money and time away from the family. With the Holidays just past even I'm realizing that a full MRA season or even parcial one's outside the budget this year. Hoping to see you guys in 14' though. It looks like a whole buncha dirtbike riding for me this year. Damn wish it's snow cause some skiing and snowmobling would be nice too.

Jon, are you able to accept pitbull strapless trailer mounts in your rig/trailer? Maybe in the future I might jump in with you for a round somewhere else. I need to expand my horizons and do a few rounds away from the MRA. Jeff

Unfortunately as I set up the trailer to accept what was the predaccessor to the Pit Bull setup the SST stands I cannot use the Pitbull setup though I hear they work well too. Either way both are the preferred method of hauling bikes as Ive been all over the country qwth never an incident

Hey guys, a bike I bought is being brought to Vegas for the wera round. Not sure I can swing going out to race it, but I still need to get it. Any chance any of you will have space to haul it back to colorado for me?

Please let me know!
